1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air

Gm crate 383 small black | 700r4 overdrive automatic | 50 years of documentationis there any classic car more iconic than the '57 chevy? Ask anyone, even google, to name the most classic car ever, and there is a pretty good chance the answer will be the 1957 chevy bel air. Appearing everywhere you look for classics, from t-shirts to coffee mugs, the 1957 chevy is an icon of car design, and is the very definition of they don't build 'em like they used to. And this '57 chevy is a fantastic example that truly captures the style and the feeling of what a classic car should be.This car is particularly special, because of the way it carefully combines classic and modern, new parts with original. So many of these cars have been so highly restored, modified and modernized, that they seem to lose the character and originality that made them so special in the first place. Other cars maintain their originality, but bring along with them the mechanical shortcomings of parts from over sixty years ago that makes the cars a chore to drive in modern traffic, taking away the joy and fun that driving a classic is supposed to bring. In this car, we have a body that has been largely preserved, with paint that is more than 40 years old, original trim and bumpers that shine beautifully, but bear a slight patina that displays their true age, as compared to so many cars covered in characterless, offshore reproduction chrome. All of the glass in the car is original, even the 1957 gm windshield. As expected a car that has been cared for as a classic for so many decades, this car carries original rust free sheet metal throughout. The more you examine the car, the more of a time capsule it becomes; like an incredible barn find, preserved for over half a century.Mechanically, however, this car is a whole other story. Under the hood is a new gm 383 small block crate engine, making 400 horsepower. A brand-new 700r4 overdrive automatic sends power to a freshly rebuilt driveline and differential. An aluminum radiator and modern cooling system keeps the engine happy even on a hot day. Wilwood brakes provide sure stopping power and completely rebuilt steering and suspension update the ride and handling to a high standard. Over $70,000 in recent parts receipts accompany the car, along with nearly 50 years of history. This is a car that has been built to drive long distances in comfort, anytime, anywhere, with enough horsepower to be a fun hot rod around town. For someone looking for a car that has that incredible, classic look and feel that only an original car can bring, combined with the ability to have a fun, fast car to drive, this car is a true classic that is tough to beat. This vehicle is presented by sherwood motorcars located at 155-3001 buckingham drive, sherwood park, ab t8h 0x5.
