Description
This 1957 Chevrolet Nomad custom wagon is powered by a GM Performance 350ci V8 crate engine paired with a B&M Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission. It is a recreation of Sam Hollingsworth's iconic custom Nomad, which was featured on the cover of the May 1967 edition of Rod & Custom magazine and later became the subject of a Revell 1/25-scale model kit. A comprehensive restoration was completed in 2011 with the goal of closely replicating the appearance of the original custom while incorporating updated mechanical components for modern driving. The suspension, steering and braking systems were restored and upgraded, including power steering and power brakes. The exterior features an elaborate custom paint scheme using the same colors documented in the original Rod & Custom magazine feature, along with a distinctive stance and rake. The interior was completely redone in black custom Naugahyde upholstery, closely replicating the styling of the original build.
