Description
Description 1957 FORD Thunderbird Convertible ALL ORIGINAL Highly Collectible " Starmist Blue" This first generation of the Ford Thunderbird is a two-seat convertible produced by Ford for the 1955 to 1957 model year, the first 2-seat Ford since 1938. It was developed in response to the 1953 Motorama display at the New York Auto Show, which showed the Chevrolet Corvette. Dubbed a "a personal car of distinction" by Ford,[6][7][8] this appellation was also used by the motoring press at the time. The interior two tone seats are very good as is the headliner. The dash is very good with no vinyl cracking complemented by brushed aluminum and chrome trim. The original steering wheel is in tact with no cracking. Gauges are all clear . For 1957, the Ford Thunderbird underwent some visual changes. Most notably, the front bumper was reconfigured, removing the large chrome nacelles, and adding fog lights to the corners. This opened up the grille visually, and made it seem more like the luxurious boulevard cruiser that it was. The fins were thinned out and more pronounced, and the rear bumper featured a new design. At the corners of the bumper, the once-subtle exhaust outlets were replaced with wider integrated outlets. Thunderbirds drive well despite their age, making them enjoy to live with today. "The Ford-O-Matic is quite decent—just make sure you buy one with the optional power steering and power brakes which ours does have, something you need to consider in modern traffic. ***"These cars became collector's items almost immediately," and retain that position today! *** On display now in our showroom Great Lakes Classic Cars 6 Upton Street Hilton,N.Y. 14468 (800)510-3797 We offer worldwide transportation assistance Read More
