1958 Buick Special Estate Wagon

Description 1958 Buick Special Estate Wagon – The budget-priced Buick with bonus-value features that make the 1958 Buick Special Estate Wagon (Model 49) the biggest, smoothest, richest and finest performer in its field – offering such an outstanding dollar value that a major share of its buyers are first-time possessors of a full-size automobile. The car was advertised as “The Air Born B-58 Buick” and the 1958 example had more stainless steel trim and chrome than any other production car ever. The ’58 Buick was influenced by the jet age throughout and is seen in the 160 chrome squares in the front grille and the simulated jet exhaust outlets in the rear bumper. This rare Buick Estate Wagon came in a while back as a partial trade-in. We didn’t know much about at these Estate Wagons at the time but we knew we loved its looks. On top of the rarity (1 of only 3,663), it has a killer patina paint job that only mother nature could create over the last 67 years. It was missing a few pieces of chrome which we successfully located and installed. The luggage rack is a rare option and this one is still in excellent condition. You probably can’t see in photos but there is a small windshield crack but the previous owner gave us a brand new windshield that will accompany this sale. The interior had seen better days so the decision was made to re-do just about all of it. The seats, carpet, headliner, dash pad, door panels, and wall panels are all new. We then tuned up the engine and the brakes, added a brand new set of thick white walls, and hand-sealed the body with Sweet Patina brand protectant. This beauty now turns a tons of heads and is ready for weekend cruises. Our future thoughts if she doesn’t sell soon are to possibly upgrade to a modern drivetrain, brakes, and a/c. But, we thought we’d go ahead and offer her for sale in the current restoration level and let the new caretaker make those decisions. Current features and options include; 364ci Fireball V8/300hp 4bbl, Auto, Luggage Rack, Chrome Grille/Mirrors/Bumpers, Rubber Floormats, Power Steering/Brakes, Factory Sonomatic Stereo, Tinted Glass, Tire Tools, 15″ Factory Hubcaps, and New 225/75 R15 3″ Wide Whitewall Tires! Load up the whole family and arrive at your next local car show in style!!
