1959 Ford Galaxie Skyliner

Merit Cars presents this iconic 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner, a fully restored example of Ford’s groundbreaking retractable hardtop convertible. Finished in striking red with white coves and a classic red interior with brown inserts, this car combines timeless styling with mechanical excellence.

This Skyliner was the product of a frame-off restoration completed about five years ago. During the process, the frame was cleaned and painted, the body refinished in original factory colors, and the interior was reupholstered using authentic factory-style materials. Under the hood, the engine and transmission were rebuilt, and the complete braking system was redone. All supporting mechanicals — starter, generator, radiator, gaskets, and seals — were serviced or replaced. Importantly, the retractable hardtop mechanism was professionally rebuilt by an expert, ensuring smooth and reliable operation.

Today, this Skyliner presents beautifully inside and out. The paint and chrome shine, the interior is fresh, and the mechanics are fully sorted. Whether you’re looking to add a rare Ford to your collection, take it to shows, or simply enjoy it as a weekend cruiser, this engineering marvel of the 1950s is ready to delight its next owner.
