Description
This 1959 Rambler American custom two-door wagon is powered by a Magnuson-supercharged LS1 V-8 engine with Arias Hemi heads and a Hogan custom direct fuel-injection intake manifold, mated to a 4L60E automatic transmission. It rides on an Art Morrison chassis with C4 Corvette front suspension lowered 2 inches and a Heidts four-link rear suspension with a Ford 9-inch rear end. Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes provide stopping power. The car is equipped with Vintage Air climate control, and the body incorporates more than 33 specific modifications, including one-piece fixed side glass and a hinged taillight fuel door. It is finished in PPG Wineberry and Platinum tri-color paint by Squeege's Kustoms of Chandler, Arizona, and retains its original Flying Lady Nash hood ornament. The interior was completed by Gabe's Street Rods Custom Interiors and features an enclosed trunk with an electronic tonneau cover. Additional features include one-off wheels by Curtis Speed Equipment. The build was completed over seven years. It was selected as a Ridler Great 8 finalist in 2015 and a Goodguys 2015 Vintage Air Custom Rod of the Year finalist.
