Description
This 1960 Buick Invicta is one of 5,236 convertibles produced for the model year and was refurbished under prior ownership. The car is powered by a 401ci Wildcat V8 equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and linked to a two-speed Twin Turbine automatic transmission. Refinished in burgundy with a manually operated white convertible top over black vinyl upholstery, it is equipped with 15″ steel wheels with covers, power-assisted drum brakes, power steering, a wrap-around windshield, an aftermarket stereo, and a heater and defroster. The selling dealer acquired the car in 2023. This Invicta is now offered with a clean Kansas title. The Invicta, which translates to “invincible” in Latin, was introduced for the 1959 model year and saw a four-year production run. Originally delivered in Silver Mist Metallic (D), this example has been repainted in Burgundy. Exterior details include a replacement white convertible top, a concave grille with a center-mounted Tri-Shield emblem, a wrap-around windshield, front quarter-windows, Invicta badging, slanted tail fins, and chrome window surrounds and trim. The convertible top is operated manually, and the hydraulic lift cylinders have been removed. The passenger-side window glass is not installed on the car but is included in the sale, and a front turn signal bulb is inoperative. Additional blemishes and imperfections are shown in the gallery.
