1961 Jeep FC150 Dump Truck 4x4

Vehicle Description 1961 Jeep FC150 $22,000 "Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to digitally present this 1961 Jeep FC150 Dump Truck. Built during an era when vehicles were designed first and foremost to work, the Jeep Forward Control series was unlike anything else on the road. Introduced for commercial, municipal, and industrial use, the FC150 placed the cab over the front axle to maximize visibility, maneuverability, and payload-long before ""cab-over"" became a buzzword. This was engineering driven by function, not fashion. Finished in a striking blue exterior over a black interior, this FC150 carries its utilitarian roots with confidence. The compact, upright cab provides commanding forward visibility, while the short wheelbase and four-wheel-drive capability made these trucks indispensable on job sites, farms, and rural roads alike. Power comes from Jeep's trusted 134 cubic inch Hurricane inline-four engine, paired with a 3-speed manual transmission. Known for durability and straightforward serviceability, this drivetrain reflects the FC150's original mission: dependable performance in demanding conditions, day after day. What truly sets this example apart is its conversion to a dump truck configuration. Equipped with a Dumper Dog dump bed rated at approximately 6,000 pounds, this FC150 transforms from a curiosity into a fully functional piece of working history. Whether imagined hauling gravel, soil, firewood, or supplies, it remains a reminder of a time when trucks earned their keep through honest labor. Numerous replaced components further support its readiness for continued use and enjoyment. Today, vehicles like this occupy a special place in the collector market. They appeal not only to Jeep enthusiasts, but to those who appreciate mechanical honesty, industrial design, and the charm of purpose-built machines. It's the kind of truck that sparks conversation everywhere it goes-because very few people have ever seen one, let alone owned one. This 1961 Jeep FC150 Dump Truck isn't just vintage-it's functional history, preserved with character intact. This vehicle can be seen at the St. Louis Showroom located at 1237 Central Park Drive, O'Fallon IL 62269."
