Description
This 1962 Austin-Healey Sprite Mk II was the subject of a seven-year refurbishment that culminated in 2009, and it was previously sold on BaT in February 2021. Repainted in two-stage off-white over red vinyl, the car is powered by a replacement 948cc A-Series inline-four paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. It also has an aftermarket front sway bar, Apple Hydraulics front lever shocks, silver-finished 13″ steel wheels, and an aftermarket wood-rimmed steering wheel. Acquired by the current owner in July 2021, this Sprite is offered on dealer consignment with a black tonneau cover and an Idaho title. The Sprite was redesigned for 1962 with a rectangular grille opening, outboard headlamps, and revised rear-end styling shared with the contemporaneous MG Midget. This example was repainted in two-stage off-white in 2004, and it features a driver-side fender-mounted mirror, chrome bumper overriders, and decals on its bonnet, front fenders, and rear bodywork. Replacement floor panels were installed under previous ownership. The car is not equipped with a soft top, though a black tonneau cover is included in the sale.
