Description
This 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Sunliner convertible was purchased by the current owner’s family in 1965 as a dealer demonstrator from Clyde Ford in Monterey, California, and has remained with the family since. The car was given to the original owner’s daughter in 1969 after she graduated college and moved to Seattle, Washington, where it was subsequently used primarily for local car shows. In retirement, the car was transported back to the Monterey/Carmel area, where it has continued to be shown periodically. The original 352ci V8 was replaced in 1980 with a rebuilt 390ci Thunderbird Police Special V8 from a 1962 sedan donor. Finished in Chestnut Metallic over a color-coordinated interior, the car also features a black convertible top, power steering, 14″ steel wheels with covers, and an AM radio. This Galaxie 500 is now offered by the seller on behalf of its owner in California with the owner’s manual, spare parts, a car cover, and a clean Washington title. The car is finished in Chestnut Metallic (V) and features a black convertible top, quad headlights, a driver-side mirror, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers. The top was replaced in the 1980s, and the original tonneau cover is included. Factory stainless-steel fender skirts remain in their original packaging.
