Description
Introduced for 1963, the second-generation Chevrolet Corvette represented a dramatic evolution of America’s sports car, debuting the Sting Ray nameplate along with an all-new chassis, independent rear suspension, and striking bodywork developed under Bill Mitchell’s direction. This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Convertible is finished in Riverside Red over a Black vinyl interior with a matching black convertible top and is said to retain its original 327ci V8 rated at 250 HP, paired with a four-barrel carburetor and the original 4-speed manual transmission. It also comes equipped with power-assisted steering and brakes. Having remained with its current owner for approximately 25 years, this Corvette is now being offered for auction in Massachusetts.
The fiberglass bodywork has received one repaint in Riverside Red and is described as remaining in exceptional overall condition. Exterior details include concealed headlights, twin hood vents, chrome bumpers and rocker trim, a driver’s-side mirror, Corvette badging, and a black convertible soft top. The car rides on 15” body-colored steel wheels fitted with full-size bright wheel covers featuring simulated knock-off-style centers and Corvette crossed-flags emblems. Michelin 205/75R15 all-season tires are mounted at all four corners and are said to remain in good condition, although they are noted to be older. Detailed images of the exterior, trim, and finish are provided in the gallery.
