1963 Ford Falcon Sprint 260 V8 4 speed manual Convertible

West Coast Classics are proud to present this 1963½ Ford Falcon Sprint convertible with the factory 260 V8, one of the most desirable, collectible, and fun-to-drive Falcons ever built.Interestingly, while the 1963 1/2 Ford Falcon Sprint VIN contains the 15 code (which Ford officially designated as the Futura 2-Door Hardtop series), the Sprint convertibles and hardtops shared the premium Futura series designation on their VINs, with the final body distinction captured on the door plate which is 76B; the official Ford body style code specifically for the Falcon Sprint 2-Door Convertible. The data plate reveals an absolute dream specification. This car is the highly desirable, factory-born Rangoon Red, 4-Speed Manual V8 Falcon Sprint Convertible with the Holy Grail Combo: A factory V8 (F-code) paired with a 4-speed manual (Code 5) in a Convertible (76B) is exactly what collectors look for. Most convertibles were ordered with the 2-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission; finding a factory floor-shifted 4-speed is incredibly rare.Low Production Numbers: Ford only manufactured 4,602 Falcon Sprint convertibles total for the 1963½ model run.The Detroit Connection: Because its ordering zone was DSO 33 (Detroit), this car may have been ordered by a Ford executive, used as a dealership display vehicle in the Detroit metro area, or ordered by an enthusiast living right at the heart of the automotive world. While exact transmission breakdowns are lost to history, Mustang and Falcon historians generally estimate that the vast majority of buyers ordering the premium convertible model opted for the automatic transmission for casual cruising. The floor-shifted 4-speed manual was typically reserved for pure performance enthusiasts or drag racersBecause this car combines the limited mid-year 4,602 production run with the highly desirable Rangoon Red paint, factory V8, and the performance 4-speed manual, it belongs to a very elite, highly sought-after group of surviving Sprints1963 ½ FORD FALCON SPRINT CONVERTIBLE  260 V8 4 SPEED 4602 SPRINT CONVERTIBLES WERE MANUFACTURED.REPORTEDLY ONLY APPROXIMATELY 2300 WERE 4 SPEEDS AND OF THAT THERE ARE NOT VERY MANY REMAINING THAT STILL HAVE THE 260 V8 4 SPEED.THIS IS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF A TRUE SPRINT THAT IS MOSTLY STOCK WITH SOME MINOR UPGRADES WHICH INCLUDE:FUEL FILLER RELOCATED TO THE TRUNK     15 INCH WHEELS WITH 205/60R/15 WHITE LETTER TIRESBRIGHT WHITE CONVERTIBLE TOPNEWER UPPER AND LOWER CONTROL ARMS WITH BALL JOINTSNEWER TIE ROD ENDSNEW CLUTCH AND DRIVE SHAFT IN 2021 WITH APPROX 7500 MILESPOWER FRONT DISC BRAKES IN 2018 WITH APPROX 12,000 MILESALUMINUM RADIATOR, WATER PUMP,THERMOSTAT AND HOSES IN 2019UPDATED RADIODASH LIGHTS CONVERTED TO LEDMAGNETIC ELECTRONIC IGNITION,SPARK PLUGS,COIL AND WIRES ADDED IN 2021AFTER MARKET SPRINT TACH TO WORK WITH THE ELECTRONIC IGNITION IN 2022ORIGINAL 64 YEAR OLD TACH (STILL WORKS) IS INCLUDEDSPRINT STEERING WHEEL (NOT INSTALLED) WAS REFURBISHED AND IS INCLUDEDHURST SHIFTER ADDED IN 2020.
