Description
A pinnacle of Jet Age styling, this authentic 1963 Ford Thunderbird Sports Roadster is a highly coveted example of the legendary third-generation "Bullet Bird." Representing the final and most refined year of this iconic silhouette, it is one of just 455 genuine factory Sports Roadsters produced for the 1963 model year. This Thunderbird carries an elite production pedigree, having been meticulously assembled at Ford's legendary Wixom, Michigan plant on the adjacent production line right next to its luxury platform-mate, the Lincoln Continental. Sharing the Continental's robust, sophisticated engineering architecture, this model stands as **one of the very last unibody cars that Thunderbird ever made** before the brand transitioned back to body-on-frame construction for the fourth generation. This example was refurbished on a rotisserie restoration project on or about 2005. *** A very important extra on this car is the recently installed digital replacement of the old original relays for the convertible... known as the Achilles Heel of these top mechanisms... Now the power-operated black soft top has been fitted with a trunk-mounted digital control board, replacing the factory relay setup. A gas-spring setup to assist the convertible panel has also been installed and can be disabled via a switch to allow for manual operation. This was almost a $5k upgrade! *** Please contact me for additional photos and Videos... ie; walk around video, cold start and operation of the convertible top going up/down, electric windows demo , driving , etc.
