Description
This 1963 Ford Thunderbird is #1483 of 2,000 Principality of Monaco limited-edition examples produced in the color scheme chosen by Prince Rainier and Princess Grace of Monaco in 1963. Specified in Corinthian White #2 over white leather upholstery, Principality of Monaco examples were available only as Landau coupes and included a Rose Beige vinyl Landau hardtop, simulated rosewood interior trim, wheel covers, rear fender shields, a white steering wheel, and a numbered nameplate mounted on the center console. The car underwent refurbishment work circa 2004 and was acquired by the current owner in 2025. Power is provided by a 390ci V8 paired with a Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission, and the car has four-wheel disc brakes. Cabin appointments include a power-adjustable driver’s seat, power windows, a swing-away steering column, a retro-look radio, and air conditioning. This Thunderbird is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with an Ohio title in the owner’s name. The car was refinished during the 2004 refurbishment work and is equipped with chrome-finished bumpers, quad headlights, reverse lights, dual side mirrors, fender skirts, and 1963-specific door accents. Noted flaws include bubbling around the quarter panels, vinyl top, and windows as well as areas of rust on the bottoms of the doors.
