This '63 Suburban was based on the pickup truck, and the resemblance is more than skin deep. There are only two doors, a concession to production efficiency and component sharing with the trucks, Nevertheless the big wagon looks magnificent and cleverly disguises its size with stylish details and crisp bodywork. The ORIGINAL paint, interior and chrome is all in very good condition and it looks great. The owner always babied it so under under that shiny paint is nice and straight metal and everything fits together quite nicely. The wrap-around windshield is a throw back from the '50s, while the rest of the windows are sliders,a concession to its pickup truck roots. Bright ORIGINAL CHROME BUMPERS and GRILLE, plus that noticeable "V6" BIG BLOCK badge on the front fenders, add to this this big hauler's unique look. The 305 was GMC's standard pickup truck and Suburban engine from 1960 to 1974, and was one of the first V6 engines ever produced by an American company. This upgraded 305E was equipped with a single barrel carburetor and produced 165 hp (123 kW) gross at 3600 rpm and 280 lb·ft (353 N·m) gross torque at 1600 rpm (measured without air cleaner or accessories in an ideal environment) .
