Description
This 1963 Vespa GS 160 was reportedly imported from Spain under previous ownership and sat in storage from the 1970s until it was acquired by the seller in 2022. A subsequent refurbishment included refinishing the bodywork in two-stage white paint, overhauling the suspension and brakes, and rebuilding the 160cc two-stroke single and four-speed transmission. The scooter rides on 10″ multi-piece wheels and is further equipped with a left-side twist-grip shifter, a kick starter, a center stand, and a reproduction Ken Cobbing-style exhaust system. This GS 160 is now offered at no reserve with a chrome cargo rack, a removed taillight assembly, tools, and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name. The scooter was disassembled, and the bodywork was chemically stripped to bare metal and received dent repairs before being primed and refinished in white paint with a clear coat under current ownership. The bodywork seals and gaskets were replaced during the project, along with the fuel tank, column lock, side panel trim, taillight assembly, and spare tire cover. The scooter was also fitted with a replacement Aquila seat and a Siem headlight ring. The seller notes a paint chip on the footboard as well as scratches on the leg-shield trim and footboard rails, photos of which can be viewed in the gallery below.
