Description
OVERVIEWThe 1964 Corvette was the second model year of the C2 Sting Ray generation, built from 1963 to 1967. It dropped the prior year's distinctive split rear window in favor of a single piece of glass, and removed the faux hood vents used in 1963, though the recessed areas where they had been mounted were carried over into the 1964 hood's styling. Four engine options were offered for 1964: a 250 horsepower base 327, a 300 horsepower L75, the 365 horsepower L76, and the fuel-injected 375 horsepower L84. The L76 was the most powerful carbureted small-block offered that year, one step below the fuel-injected L84. Two notable factory options from this period were the N11 side-mount exhaust system, ordered on 1,953 cars, and the P48 cast-aluminum knock-off wheel option, ordered on just 806 cars. The National Corvette Restorers Society supports ongoing documentation and judging for cars of this generation.View More
