Description
This 1964 Ford Fairlane Sports Coupe has been modified in the style of a Thunderbolt and is powered by a 351W-based 408ci stroker V8 linked with a five-speed manual transmission. The 408ci V8 was purchased as a 515-horsepower crate engine and is equipped with CNC’d aluminum heads, a custom camshaft, forged pistons, headers, and a Holley four-barrel carburetor. The build incorporates a fiberglass teardrop hood, a relocated trunk-mounted battery, a hydraulic clutch, upgraded power steering, front disc brakes, an export brace and lower chassis brace, shock-tower reinforcement, upgraded cooling components, and an 8″ rear end with a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in Maroon over Palomino vinyl and rides on American Racing front wheels and steelies out back. The seller purchased the car in 2013 and has since added approximately 500 miles. This Fairlane is now offered with records and a California title in the seller’s name. The seller states that the car was originally repainted before being repaired following a collision with a raised truck bumper while returning from a car show. Per the seller, the impact reportedly damaged the grille, lighting components, hood, and both front fenders, while the frame and bumper were not damaged. The insurance company subsequently totaled the car because replacement parts were not readily available.
