Vehicle Description 1964 Jaguar XKE $83,000 Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to digitally present this 1964 Jaguar E-Type (XKE) Series 1. Few cars in automotive history command the respect and admiration of the Jaguar E-Type, and this particular example stands out for its remarkable originality and provenance. Finished in a timeless blue exterior, this E-Type represents the purest expression of Jaguar's 1960s design and engineering brilliance. This is a two-owner vehicle, cherished and preserved through the decades rather than over-restored or heavily modified. The paint was changed from champagne to blue over 50 years ago, and now shows light age-appropriate patina that speaks to its authenticity and history. Rather than hiding its past, this car proudly wears it - serving as a rolling testament to six decades of careful stewardship. Under the long, sculpted bonnet lies the legendary 3.8-liter inline six-cylinder engine, paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The car remains largely original mechanically, with the original carburetor setup intact. The result is an authentic driving experience that retains the charm and character that made the Series 1 E-Type an icon of its era. Inside, the classic leather interior and wood-rim steering wheel showcase the craftsmanship that defined Jaguar's approach to luxury performance. The view down the long, elegant bonnet remains one of the most recognizable and romantic in motoring history.
