1964 Morgan Plus 4

Vehicle Description 1964 Morgan Plus 4 $49,000 There are cars… and then there are experiences. This 1964 Morgan +4 belongs firmly in the latter category—a visceral, analog, hand-built expression of British motoring that has all but vanished in today’s world.Finished in a striking teal exterior over freshly re-trimmed black leather, this two-seat roadster delivers presence, pedigree, and craftsmanship that simply cannot be replicated. At its heart lies the original 2138cc Triumph Motor Company inline four-cylinder engine, paired with a proper four-speed manual transmission—an honest, mechanical connection between driver and machine. It starts easily, idles cleanly, and pulls with purpose through the rev range, delivering the raw, engaging driving experience these cars are celebrated for. What truly separates a Morgan from anything else on the road is what lies beneath the surface. Built on a traditional ash wood frame—a hallmark of Morgan Motor Company—this car represents a centuries-old coachbuilding philosophy carried into the modern era. In this example, that structure remains in impeccable condition, a testament to careful ownership and proper stewardship over the decades. This is not just a beautiful Morgan—it’s a recognized one. Awarded 2nd Place in Class at the prestigious Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance in 2014, it has already earned its place among discerning collectors and enthusiasts. With relatively few surviving examples, the +4 has become increasingly difficult to source in this level of condition—especially one so well-documented and thoughtfully maintained. This Morgan has been comprehensively cared for, including a complete headlight-to-taillight service performed by Merlin Auto Group, a specialist known for their expertise with these cars.Highlights include:- 74,437 miles shown- Extensive work completed in 2022 to address and correct common engine leaks- Thousands of dollars in documented maintenance and service receipts- New batteries installed June 2024 with integrated battery tender system- Clean title with years of registrations, books, records, and documentationAdditional features:- Chrome knock-off wire wheels wrapped in Dunlop radial tires- Black canvas removable top, side curtains, and tonneau cover- Heater, wind wings, and headlight stone guards- Period-correct Simpson seatbeltsThe result is a car that is fully sorted, mechanically dialed, and ready for immediate enjoyment—whether on the road or on the concours lawn.Let’s be candid—cars like this are not replicated at this level without significant investment. The current owner has invested heavily in bringing this Morgan to its present condition and is offering it at a level that represents a meaningful loss relative to that investment. For the next steward, that translates to a rare opportunity: an award-winning, properly sorted Morgan +4—without the time, expense, and uncertainty of restoration. If you understand what this car is, you already know. This isn’t just a vintage roadster—it’s a rolling piece of history, built by hand, guided by feel, and meant to be driven with intent.Ready for show. Ready for the road. Ready for its next chapter.
