Description
This 1965 Plymouth Barracuda was modified for drag racing under prior ownership and was campaigned in NHRA racing events, according to the seller, who purchased the car in 2025. Power is provided by a rebuilt 360ci V8 accompanied by an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Quick Fuel Technologies carburetor, an MSD ignition module, an electric water pump, and an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. The 727 TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission has a Hughes torque converter and a manual valve body, and it is linked to an 8.75″ rear end with a limited-slip differential. Inside, a six-point roll cage has been installed and surrounds a pair of bucket seats accompanied by a B&M shifter, an aftermarket switch panel, and an aftermarket tachometer and gauges. This modified Barracuda is now offered with its removed hood, a Kirkey racing seat, other removed parts and trim, Hoosier drag slicks, and a Washington title in the seller’s name. Plymouth launched the Valiant-based Barracuda fastback on April 1, 1964. The model featured a distinctive curved rear window, deck lid, and roofline as well as a Barracuda-only split grille. This car has been fitted with a modified steel hood with a raised fiberglass scoop and pins, and it has been repainted in metallic blue. Battery charging ports are mounted below the rear bumper, a battery cut-out switch is mounted below the rear license plate, and the car has chrome bumpers and trim. The removed hood will accompany the car and is pictured in the gallery.
