1965 Shelby Cobra Factory Five MK4

Vehicle Description 1965 Shelby Cobra $59,000 Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to offer this absolutely stunning Factory Five Racing Mk4 Roadster, a Cobra-inspired roadster that delivers the look, sound, and attitude of an American performance legend with the technology and power to back it up. If you have been waiting for the right Cobra-style roadster, this is the kind of car that demands attention the moment it rolls into view. Under the hood sits a 4.6-liter SOHC Ford V8 with electronic fuel injection, giving this lightweight roadster the perfect combination of V8 character and modern drivability. Twist the key and the Ford V8 comes to life through a side-exit exhaust system that gives this roadster the unmistakable sound and presence you'd expect from a Cobra. Power is sent through a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission to a Ford 8.8-inch independent rear axle, putting serious performance behind the classic styling. And this isn't simply a Cobra replica with a big engine. The chassis is equipped with four-wheel independent suspension, rack-and-pinion power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes, giving the car the hardware to match its aggressive appearance. With the lightweight Factory Five platform, independent rear suspension, manual transmission, wide performance tires, and V8 power, this is a driver's car in every sense of the word. The exterior is finished in metallic gray with striking black center stripes and has been enhanced with clear matte XPEL Stealth paint protection film. The result is an exceptionally distinctive finish that gives the roadster a modern, aggressive appearance while protecting the finish underneath. XPEL windshield protection film and XPEL window tint add another level of premium protection and refinement. The details are what make this roadster stand out. Polished bumperettes, a hood scoop, fender vents, wind wings, dual side mirrors, dual roll hoops, a Le Mans-style fuel filler, and side-exit exhaust pipes give it the unmistakable visual language of a classic Cobra. The dual roll hoops and open cockpit immediately communicate that this is a car built around the driving experience. Then there are the wheels. Sitting prominently under the fenders are 17-inch Halibrand-style wheels with faux knock-off spinners, wrapped in serious Nitto NT05 performance rubber measuring 275/40 up front and an impressive 315/35 in the rear. The wide rear tires, deep stance, classic wheels, and muscular bodywork give this roadster the kind of presence that simply cannot be replicated by an ordinary sports car. Step inside and the presentation continues. The cockpit features beautifully retrimmed tan leather low-back bucket seats with diamond-stitched inserts, giving the interior a premium custom appearance. The seats are heated for added comfort, while Simpson Racing harnesses bring unmistakable performance attitude to the cockpit. The driver sits behind a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel and a comprehensive array of classic-style instrumentation. The dashboard features a reverse-sweep 180-mph speedometer, tachometer, oil pressure gauge, oil temperature gauge, coolant temperature gauge, voltage gauge, and fuel level gauge. A digital odometer displays approximately 12,000 miles. The interior also includes a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror, tinted sunvisors, a lockable glove compartment, dual cupholders, a fire extinguisher, charging outlets, and a data-link connector. It is a cockpit that successfully combines classic roadster character with useful modern touches. Under the hood, the fuel-injected 4.6-liter Ford V8 is finished with quality supporting components including a Canton Racing coolant reservoir and Moroso power steering reservoir. The engine bay reinforces the overall theme of the car: classic Cobra appearance paired with modern Ford performance hardware. Documentation adds another layer of appeal, with Factory Five Racing assembly manuals and build documents accompanying the vehicle. The car is documented as a Factory Five Cobra replica, giving the next owner valuable insight into the construction of this distinctive roadster. Titled as a 2018 Cobra Replica with 1965 Replica Remarks on the Clean Texas Title, so no emissions required in Texas. Factory Five Racing has become one of the most recognized names in the world of Cobra-style performance cars, and the Mk4 Roadster captures everything enthusiasts love about the formula.
