Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Introduced for 1962, Chevrolet’s compact Chevy II was designed to provide reliable, economical transportation while competing with emerging compact cars. By 1966, the lineup received a significant redesign highlighted by crisp, contemporary styling, a longer appearance, and a more upscale character.
The 1966 Chevy II 400 Nova Sport Coupe represented the sporty side of the range, featuring a sleek pillarless hardtop body style that appealed to younger buyers seeking style as well as practicality. The car was available with economical inline-six engines or optional V8 power.
This Sport Coupe received numerous modifications in preparation for the 2024 Detroit Autorama. Its original inline-six engine was swapped for a Chevy 327ci small-block V8 with an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, an aftermarket open-element air cleaner, and aftermarket electric cooling fan, and power is delivered to the rear wheels via a TREMEC Magnum six-speed manual transmission.
In addition, the car features a Ford 9" rear end with a 3.89:1 gear ratio and limited-slip differential, was refinished in white, and received aftermarket bucket seats with black vinyl upholstery and seat belts, a center console with floor shifter, tinted side and rear glass, and black carpet.
