Description
This 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova two-door sport coupe was transformed into a purpose-built drag car with extensive custom fabrication. The seller reports that the build cost more than $200,000 and that it has won five awards, including the Sweepstakes award at the Chevy All-Star Show, and it recorded a best quarter-mile run of 9.27 seconds at 143 mph. The build centers on a 548ci V8 producing a seller-reported 750 horsepower on pump gas, and it is paired with a G-Force five-speed manual transmission and a narrowed and built 9″ rear end. Dennis Blackstone fabricated the front clip, four-link rear suspension, wheelie bars, and full roll cage, while Tony McDowell completed the metal bodywork and paint and Rod Bean built the custom interior. Additional equipment includes coilovers, a cowl-induction hood, American Racing wheels, 32×14.5×16 Goodyear slicks, four-wheel disc brakes, wheelie bars, and a roll cage certified for 8.5-second elapsed times. The current owner purchased the Nova on August 20, 2019, and has since added approximately 100 miles. This Nova is now offered at no reserve by Adam’s Motors, a BaT Local Partner , with an Idaho title. The car is finished in Tuxedo Black and features an aluminum grille, cowl-induction hood, shaved fuel-filler opening, and chrome bumpers. The body and paint were completed during the 2015 refurbishment, and there are no wipers.
