Description
Overview 1966 Ford GT40 GT40 P/2354The iconic GT40 has it all — heart-stopping performance, iconic looks, race-winning-heritage, and movie-star panache. Although the GT40 claimed victories in all the top endurance races of its day, the competition that earned the GT40 its worldwide reputation was the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The winning streak began in 1966, when the GT40 claimed the top three positions in the famed 24-hour race. The GT40 offered here honors that 1966 Le Mans winner. Painted in the heritage livery of the black and silver MKII driven to victory by Chris Amon and Bruce McLaren, it has four painted roundels finished with a vinyl number 2 in each. Upgrades include brushed Talbot mirrors, Avon tires with gold satin Halibrand wheels and polished Aluminum spinners.P/2354 is powered by a Roush 427IR polished small-block V8 with pent roof Roush valve covers, silver ceramic coated headers and stainless steel megaphone exhaust. The RBT transaxle has been upgraded with Olthoff shift linkage. This GT40 has the optional full leather package interior, and features Olthoff interior door latches, side window billet hinges and Le Mans round window vents, plus upgraded Olthoff front hood and rear clamshell Struts.Authenticity was the Superformance engineers' goal when re-creating the GT40. It carries the GT40/P chassis number and is built to the exact standards of the car back in the 1960s. It is so authentic that over two thirds of the rolling chassis parts are interchangeable with the original GT40s.GT40P/2354 is titled as 1966 Superformance in Kansas and has 370 miles. It is currently available for $279,950. GT40 MKII: 560 HP Le Mans Winner This GT40 MKII is a direct homage to the legendary 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans, where Ford claimed an unprecedented 1-2-3 podium sweep over Ferrari, a pivotal moment in American motorsports history. True to its race-winning Black and Silver livery, this continuation car hides a modern powerhouse: the expertly tuned Roush 427IR V8. Dyno-tested to deliver an exhilarating 560 horsepower and 540 ft-lbs of torque, this drivetrain offers dramatically increased performance and reliability over the original. It ensures that the car’s aggressive, iconic looks are perfectly matched by a heart-stopping, yet street-legal, driving experience.
