Description
This 1966 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is powered by a matching-numbers Hi-Po 289ci V-8 engine paired with a Ford C4 three-speed automatic transmission. The engine features a high-rise aluminum intake manifold, Ford Autolite 435 CFM carburetor, cast-aluminum oil pan with baffles, cast-aluminum valve covers and high-performance headers. The engine and transmission were rebuilt during prior ownership, with the engine bored .030 and fitted with forged pistons and solid lifters. A dual-exhaust system is complemented by the Shelby-American front and rear suspension modification package with four Koni heavy-duty adjustable shocks, rear suspension limiting cables, quick-steering modifications, 600-pound front coil springs and a 1-inch front stabilizer bar. Braking is handled by front disc brakes with sintered pads and oversize rear drum brakes with sintered linings. The Guardsman Blue exterior features Wimbledon White Le Mans stripes, rocker-panel stripes, a special hood with an air scoop and competition hood pins, functional side scoops for the rear brakes and Shelby cast-aluminum wheels. The car underwent paint and body restoration in 1993. Interior equipment includes competition three-inch seat belts, a simulated wood-rimmed steering wheel and a folding rear seat. A binder contains the vehicle's history, original factory invoices and ownership details. It has been in the consignor's family since 1991 in Scottsdale.
