Description
This fully matching-numbers 1966 Jaguar XKE E-Type Series 1 roadster is powered by its original 4.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission and triple SU carburetors. Originally delivered new to Charles Hornburg Jaguar in New York, this Roadster retains signature Series 1 features, including glass-covered headlights and dashboard toggle switches. Classic Showcase of Oceanside, California, began servicing the Jaguar several years ago and has performed extensive service and maintenance within the last 300 miles. Work included a comprehensive inspection and compression test, engine bay and undercarriage pressure cleaning, installation of a complete new wiring harness, carburetor service and tune-up, Pertronix electronic ignition, an upgraded cooling system with an aluminum radiator, a new clutch system, resurfaced pressure plate and engine-out service. The four-speed transmission was serviced and resealed, and the wiper motor was rebuilt. Additional work included a new flywheel, IRS mounts, arm bushings, pinion seal, gearbox seal, lower ball joints, tie-rod end boots, sealed-beam headlights, ignition switch, hoses and clamps, an oil change and four new Vredestein Sprint Classic tires and tubes. The exterior is finished in red with a black soft-top and matching boot, while the black interior features a Moto-Lita steering wheel and RetroSound Bluetooth stereo. The Jaguar is accompanied by a car cover, tool roll, jack, spare wheel and tire, owner’s manual, Jaguar Heritage Certificate, service invoices and additional Jaguar documentation.
