Description
This 1966 911 Coupe represents one of the earliest and purest expressions of Porsche’s most iconic sports car. Succeeding the 356, the rear-engined 911 introduced the air-cooled flat-six that would define the model for decades. Finished in white over a black leatherette interior, this example is described as a rust-free California car now residing in Illinois. The original 2.0-liter flat-six was replaced with a 2.2-liter unit in the 1990s, complemented by Weber carburetors, electronic ignition, and new Bilstein front struts. The car has recently undergone a thorough service that included a valve adjustment, new ignition components, and fresh fluids. This classic air-cooled 911 is now being offered for auction.
Finished in white, this Coupe is said to have received a single repaint in its original color approximately 10-15 years ago. Details include chrome trim, windshield wipers parked on the right side, a polished exhaust outlet, and factory 15” steel wheels with chrome Porsche-crested hubcaps and BFGoodrich 195/65R15 tires showing fewer than 2,000 miles. The seller adds that the car retains its original panels and describes it as a rust-free, solid driver that presents well, with only minor flaws consistent with the age of the paint.
