1967 Alfa Romeo GT Veloce

Introduced in 1966 as the evolution of Alfa Romeo’s celebrated Giulia Sprint GT, the 105-series GT Veloce represented the marque’s continued pursuit of lightweight construction, responsive handling, and rev-happy powertrains—attributes that had long endeared the Milanese company to sports-car enthusiasts worldwide. While visually reminiscent of its predecessor, the GT Veloce introduced numerous refinements: subtle bodywork revisions by Bertone’s Giorgetto Giugiaro, improved interior ergonomics, and, most notably, a more powerful and freer-revving variant of Alfa Romeo’s twin-cam four-cylinder engine.Displacing 1,570 cubic centimeters, the GT Veloce’s all-aluminum, hemispherical-combustion-chamber inline-four produced over 100 horsepower—a meaningful figure in a chassis weighing scarcely over a ton. Paired with five forward gears and disc brakes at all four corners, the car delivered the sort of lively, tactile driving experience that would become synonymous with Alfa Romeo in period sports car competition. Privateer entries enjoyed notable success across European touring car and hill climb events, where the GT Veloce’s balance, mechanical grip, and willingness to rev to its redline made it a formidable opponent against larger-displacement rivals. This 1967 GT Veloce, finished in Rosso over Black, presents in a timeless and quintessentially Italian specification—one that highlights the car’s elegant yet purposeful character. The interior maintains the model’s signature thin-rim wood steering wheel, deeply sculpted bucket seats, and clear, legible Veglia instrumentation, reinforcing the driver-focused design intent that defines the best Alfa Romeos of the era.Now nearly six decades since its introduction, the GT Veloce is widely recognized as one of Alfa Romeo’s most iconic road cars, and a cornerstone of postwar Italian sporting design. Its blend of aesthetic restraint, mechanical sophistication, and light-footed performance has ensured its lasting desirability among discerning collectors. This example offers the rare opportunity to acquire a well-presented and authentically specified first-series GT Veloce—a car that captures the essence of mid-century Italian motoring: spirited, elegant, and endlessly engaging.
