1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu

Purchased by the current caretaker as an SS396 tribute (this is a 13617 car) at a late-2013 Mecum Auto Auction, I believe the car was driven for a season as purchased. Incredibly pleased with the Chevelle’s performance, plans were soon underway to frame-off restore the car using the existing high performance drivetrain. With decades of partnering on other restorations with the highly regarded restoration shop just south of Madison, WI, Regal Roadsters, it was an easy decision to have their team dive into the ‘67.

Regal Roadsters did a spectacular job documenting the restoration process, along with taking well over 100 photos of their progress. A portion of that extensive documentation is visible in the listing photos and Documentation video, with the hope it offers a buyer an understanding of the depth of restoration. In an email photographed in the listing, the owner of Regal mentions roughly 1,900 hours into the restoration, between buying parts, and labor on the car. Even using an obscenely low rate of $50 per hour, nearly $160,000 has been invested into this car in parts, labor, and initial purchase price.
