Description
This custom 1967 Chevrolet Corvette convertible restomod is powered by a Chevrolet Performance 502ci big-block crate engine topped with an Edelbrock aluminum intake and Holley 850-cfm carburetor, backed by a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission. The stock differential was retained and fitted with 3.55 gears. Corvette Conspiracy in Cleveland, Ohio, completed the build after removing the body from the original frame, reinforcing and gusseting key areas, then media-blasting and powder-coating the chassis. The front suspension uses QA1 coilovers with tubular upper and lower control arms, while the rear is fitted with a Vette Brakes composite monospring. Corvette Conspiracy fabricated custom headers and a side-exit exhaust system. The factory J56 brake system was refurbished during the build. Finished in Bright Red, the Corvette rides on Billet Specialties Fury aluminum wheels with 225/55ZR17 front and 255/50ZR17 rear Kumho Ecsta radial tires. It is fitted with an Al Knoch convertible top. Underneath the custom Stinger hood, the engine compartment is detailed with chrome and polished-aluminum components. Approximately 95% of the interior was retained as factory original. Interior equipment includes an Eckler’s leather-wrapped steering wheel, hidden 600-watt stereo system, power steering and Vintage Air system. Corvette Conspiracy also fabricated a new transmission tunnel to accommodate the T56 transmission. The Corvette was featured in the May 25, 2015, Hot Rod/Vette article, “Restomod 1967 Chevrolet Corvette is New Old School.” At the 2014 Summit Racing Equipment I-X Piston Powered Auto-Rama in Cleveland, Ohio, it won first place in the Conservative Sports 1963-67 class and received Outstanding Sports/Sport Compact and Outstanding Paint honors. Title branded as Non-Actual Warning: Odometer Discrepancy.
