Description
Description 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC Chassis No. 9847 Engine No. 9847 The elegant Pininfarina body design featured sweeping glass, excellent visibility and comfort amenities including air conditioning and electric windows. Becker or Blaupunkt radios were optional, as were wire wheels. And while Ferrari was developing a more volume oriented business to sustain their racing efforts, just 598 330 GTCs were constructed between 1966 and 1968. Rarity, beauty, and excellent road manners remain hallmarks of the GTC making it one of the most sought after Enzo-Era Ferraris, highly favored by top-tier collectors who enjoy driving their cars in events as well as exhibiting them at premier concours shows. This matching-numbers 330 GTC (number 219 of 598 units built) was configured in left hand drive, finished at the factory in Argento with black leather interior, and optioned with factory air-conditioning and power windows. Upon completion in 1967, this Ferrari was sold to the first owner, Signore Coppola, Genova, Italy. By the late 70s, the car was exported to the US, where it was then sold to Rick Dean, Savannah, GA. In March 1983, Dean offered the car for sale in the Ferrari Market Letter stating it was silver with black interior and red carpets. The car was then sold to Ed Weschler, Nashota, WI in 1984 who offered the car in 1986, once again through the Ferrari Market Letter for $29,000.00. Robert Bodin, Minneapolis, MN purchased the car, repainted it red and, in 1989, offered it for sale in the Ferrari Market Letter for $350,000.00. After some time, the car was subsequently purchased by Tim Traft, who in 1995 repainted the car black, retrimmed the interior in red leather and offered it for sale. The next Midwest owner retained the car for many years, driving it extensively, adding 18,000 miles including driving in the Cavallino Classic Tour of Palm Beach, FL, showing it at Moroso Motorsports Park during the classic, displaying it at the 11th Cavallino Classic Concours d’Elegance, Palm Beach, FL, and subsequently while under the same ownership, showed it at the 2004 Concorso Italiano. In 2008, this 300 GTC won 3rd in class at Carmel by the Sea Concours d”Elegance on the Avenue, Carmel, CA. In 2016, the former owner commissioned a comprehensive mechanical service with experts at Motion Products, totaling over $45,000.00. Work included draining and replenishing all fluids, new fuel hoses and Facet fuel pump, fuel tank repair, new wheel bearings, new brake pads, brake caliper service, heater core repair and heater cable service. Additionally, the air conditioning hoses were replaced, a new thermal switch installed for the AC unit, the driver’s side window motor repaired, the clock serviced, and the steering wheel refinished. Engine work included, updating the ignition points with an MSD unit, a valve adjustment, new distributor cap, new spark plugs and wires, timing adjustment, all carburetors adjusted, and compression and leak down tests performed. In 2o17 the car was sold to the current owner and in September 2025 and October 2026, Patrick Ottis services included replacing the high altitude carburetor jets with sea level jets, repairing the passenger side power window motor, correcting the electric fuel pump operation, synchronizing the carburetors, and servicing the water pump, among other works. Documented with service, maintenance, and restoration records dating back 30 years, this beautiful Ferrari 330 GTC offers an older but nicely settled black finish with excellent doors, hood, and trunk panel gaps, all of which open and close properly. The chrome is in nice driver condition as are the polished headlight rings, side mirror, window trim, and door handles. The beautifully finished aluminum grille, chrome grille surround, glass, lighting, and sculpted center emblem are further examples of Italian artistry and are all in excellent condition. A set of correct “Route Borrani” wire wheels are attractively polished and finished with stunning chrome-plated triple ear knock offs. All four wheels are outfitted with period correct Michelin 215/70 VR14 XWX tires. Even the correctly angled and properly extended quad ANSA exhaust tips delightfully finish the distinctively tailored rear profile of this beautiful GTC. The interior offers a handsome combination of elegance and sporting presence enhanced by correct leather finishes and correct Ferrari factory details. Retrimmed many years ago, the red leather seats have aged but offer a welcoming and relaxed appearance. The fit and finish on the inner door panels, center console, and headliner remain in excellent condition, consistent with the high quality of workmanship performed when the interior was retrimmed in red 30 years ago. The iconic wood rim steering wheel fronts beautifully finished gauges featuring excellent color, rich contrast, and clear lenses. The trunk compartment has been recarpeted and below houses a spare wheel nestled in the original spare tire tub. Under the hood, the matching number engine and engine compartment displays correctly finished components and hardware. The multiple Weber carbureted engine is topped with the correct air cleaner, correct hoses, proper fasteners, and consistent Ferrari factory details. An important upgrade, the engine has been fitted with an oil cooler. The engine compartment is clean and well-prepared, including the tufted diamond silver hood insulation pad, wire wound yellow lines, correctly plumbed hoses, and Ferrari data plates. Outfitted with air conditioning from the factory, the system and electric fan are operational, however the system is not delivering cold air to the cabin interior. The underside of the car is clean, dry, and, while generally well kept, appears to have never been restored. Engine and transaxle casings are in very good condition, dual exhaust and quad mufflers are installed, and the correct suspension and ventilated disc brakes complete the chassis features.
