Description
This custom 1967 Lincoln Continental coupe is known as "Golden Sunset," the car was created by John D’Agostino of Celebrity Kustoms with work by Oz’s Kustoms, DeRosa and Son, Greg Westbury, Gene Winfield and Dick Falk of Valley Restorations. It is powered by a 462ci V-8 engine backed by an automatic transmission. Air Ride Technologies air suspension was installed by Oz’s Kustoms, while the frame was C-notched in the rear and the driveline was tunneled for additional lowering capability. The custom bodywork includes a roof chopped 2.5 inches, shaved trim, nosed and decked treatment, dechroming, flared rocker panels and lowered rear wheel wells. The taillights were modified with chrome billets, the gas filler was relocated to the trunk and remote door and trunk access was added. Greg Westbury designed the bar grille with a floating chrome bar across Lucas-style headlamps. Gene Winfield applied blended House of Kolor Kandy Pearl Copper, Cinnamon and Kandy Root Beer transitioning to White Pearl. The Lincoln rides on vintage Cadillac 48-spoke wire wheels with bullet-centered Thunderbird three-prong knock-off centers by Roadster Wire Wheels, wrapped in whitewall tires. The interior features a 1960s-style combination of pleats and 4-inch square biscuits with round buttons, finished in ivory leatherette with copper Egyptian mohair accents and piping. A custom-fabricated headliner incorporates ’58 Cadillac trim spears, while dark brown English Wilton wool carpeting covers the floor. The upholstery treatment continues into the trunk. Two Gene Winfield signatures are located in the driver- and passenger-side door jambs. Documentation includes period articles featuring the car along with photographs and slides from photo shoots, the build and the paint process.
