Description
KEY FACTS This Mercedes-Benz 250 SE Cabriolet is an elegantly styled classic grand tourer. It is powered by a replacement 2.8-litre straight-six, driving the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The car was delivered new to Sweden in 1967 and has been in Sweden ever since. It has been with the seller for the last 18 years. The seller states that the 2.8-litre engine underwent a complete overhaul in 2011 when the odometer showed 61,720 km. The brakes were fully renovated in 2022. The odometer shows 67,828 kilometres, though this is not warranted. EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES The car is finished in white with a black soft top over a black leather-trimmed cabin, punctuated by dark wooden inlays and a white steering wheel. It rides on a set of 14-inch wheels with body-coloured centres and whitewall tyres. Equipment includes wind-down windows, basic heating and ventilation controls, and a period-correct radio. The original engine has been replaced with an engine from a W111-era 280 SE. Accompanying the sale is the owner’s manual, various tools and paperwork, and the spare wheel. It also has a leather tonneau cover for the convertible roof for when it is folded down, and a leather bag for the same that the seller believes are original. CONDITION Please refer to the photo gallery to assess exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: a rust spot on one of the front fenders, and general wear on the seats and around the instrument cluster. The bodywork and steering wheel have previously been repainted, and a new gear knob has been fitted. The tyres are approximately 10 years old. The most recent roadworthiness test was reportedly conducted in July 2017 at an indicated 64,994 kilometres, resulting in a clean pass. Due to the age of the vehicle, it is now exempt from mandatory roadworthiness testing. SERVICE HISTORY The car was last serviced in 2022 at an indicated 65,750 kilometres by MB Classic Restoration in Kisa, who greased various p
