1967 Plymouth Belvedere GTX 440 Convertible

Vehicle Description 1967 Plymouth Belvedere $77,995 "If style points were being awarded for 1960s muscle cars, then this 1967 Plymouth Belvedere GTX 440 Convertible would be at the top of the list. A sub-model of the Belvedere, the GTX debuted in 1967 and took everything Mopar fans liked about the base car and ratcheted it up to muscle car status. Fully repainted in its original Silver Metallic and complemented by dual full-length black racing stripes, this droptop looks ready to go from any angle, and with as few as 680 GTX convertibles made for its inaugural year, you're not likely to see another one of these any time soon. Inside, we find out why the GTX was oftentimes referred to as ""the gentleman's muscle car."" Restored to its factory black vinyl, its chrome trim gives this car an upmarket vibe. Its three-spoke, wood-rimmed, power-assisted steering wheel sits just ahead of a five-pod rectangular gauge cluster, featuring a large, easy-to-read 150 mph speedometer that takes center stage, while a pair of auxiliary gauges flank it on either side. An original-looking AM radio works well, while a rotary-knob-based setup is used for HVAC controls to keep things simple and easy. Under that expansive scooped hood, we find a (believed) original 440 cubic-inch V-8 engine. Topped with a single four-barrel Carter carburetor, this big V-8 is believed also to contain its stock internals. That massive power is routed through an A727 TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission before heading out to an 8.75-inch rear end that houses a set of 3.23:1 gears. Those ponies are transferred to the pavement via a set of 15-inch Magnum 500 wheels shod in 255/70R-15 Redline tires. • First Year GTX • One of Approx 680 Convertibles Made for 1967 • Numbers Matching 440 CID V8 • Believed Stock Internals • A727 TorqueFlite • Carter Four Barrel Carb • 3.23 Rear Gears • Power Brakes • Power Steering • Magnum 500 Wheels • Redline Tires • Full Silver Metallic Repaint • Black Racing Stripes • Power Top This 1967 Plymouth Belvedere GTX 440 Convertible comes equipped with a factory heavy-duty suspension. Featuring heavy-duty shocks, six-leaf rear springs, front torsion bars, and ball joints, this optional setup enables the GTX to handle more aggressively and ride better than many of its contemporaries. If you want a Golden Age numbers-matching muscle car that is as scarce as it is fun, and also happens to have one of the coolest names in the history of the autoverse, this is the one you've been waiting for. Don't wait, call today!"
