Description
This 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 is one of 2,048 fastbacks produced for the model year, and it was built in January 1967 and specified in Dark Moss Green with a black interior and a 428ci Police Interceptor V8 linked with a four-speed manual transmission. It was delivered new to Johnny Bolton Ford of Maitland, Florida, and it was optioned with the Extra Cooling package, the Interior Décor Group, and a fold-down rear seat. The car was repainted under prior ownership, and it is powered by a 428ci Police Interceptor V8 linked to a four-speed manual transmission that was rebuilt in 2016 along with the power brake booster and the power steering control valve. Front bucket seats are trimmed in black and accompanied by an AM radio, a roll bar with inertia-reel seatbelts, and Stewart-Warner auxiliary gauges. This GT500 was purchased by the current owner in 2015 and is now offered on dealer consignment by a BaT Local Partner with a Deluxe Marti Report, a Shelby American invoice and order documentation, service records, and a Texas title. The GT500 model was equipped with a ducktail rear spoiler, fender extensions, air scoops on the sail and quarter panels, and a fiberglass ventilated hood with an air scoop. This example is finished in Dark Moss Green (5) with white over-the-top stripes and GT500 rocker stripes, and additional exterior equipment includes hood lock cables, inboard grille-mounted hi-beams, and dual exhaust outlets.
