Description
This 1967 Triumph TR4A was dispatched to Los Angeles, California, in November 1966, and a refurbishment conducted in Ontario, Canada, was completed in 2012 under prior ownership. The Triumph was then relocated to Florida, where the seller purchased the car in 2019 and had it shipped back to Ontario. Finished in black over red leather upholstery, the vehicle is powered by a replacement 2,138cc inline-four paired with a replacement four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The removable Surrey hardtop is complemented by a removable soft center section. Equipment includes Dayton 15″ wire wheels, front disc brakes, dual SU carburetors, K&N air filters, a Triumphtune valve cover, an alternator, an aluminum radiator, dual exhaust outlets, a wood dashboard fascia, and lap belts. In mid-2026, a differential-mount reinforcement was adapted, the overdrive solenoid and a half-shaft were replaced, a high-torque starter was installed, and the carburetors were serviced. This TR4A is now offered in Canada with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, refurbishment photos and records, receipts from current ownership, tire-changing tools, and Ontario registration in the seller’s name. The TR4A was built from 1965 to 1968 and featured a revised grille and a widened chassis compared with earlier TR4 models. The Giovanni Michelotti–designed body of this example was finished from the factory in Black (11), and it was stripped and repainted during the aforementioned refurbishment. Exterior equipment includes turn signals on the front fender sides, a driver-side mirror, a cowl vent, windshield washers, a flip-up fuel-filler cap, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders. LiteZupp LED taillight bulbs are fitted. The seller notes that the gaps between the fenders and the hood are wider than they should be.
