Description
This 1968 BMW R60 is one of 728 US-market examples built for the model year and it was restored by its previous owner between 2015 and when it was acquired by the seller on BaT in February 2020 . The bike is finished in black with white pinstripes and is powered by a 594cc opposed-twin paired with a four-speed transmission. Features include a low-rise handlebar, 18″ alloy rims, a driveshaft, a Denfeld saddle, bar-end mirrors, a locking storage compartment, a center stand, and dual Bing carburetors. This R60US is now offered with a Clymer service manual and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name. Manufactured from 1967 until 1969, the R60US was delivered from BMW with a conventional fork and without sidecar lugs, unlike its R60/2 counterpart. This example was stripped down to its frame during the restoration, and the 4.5-gallon fuel tank and fenders were refinished in black with hand-applied double-row white pinstriping. The frame and swingarm received a powder-coat finish, and the hardware was re-plated in chrome or zinc. A luggage rack was added under current ownership.
