Description
Introduced for 1967 as Chevrolet’s answer to the Ford Mustang, the first-generation Camaro quickly became a cornerstone of the muscle car era. This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro is a restomod finished in white over a red interior, which the seller reports underwent a frame-off restoration approximately eight years ago. The build centers on a 350ci Chevrolet Performance crate engine paired with a 4-speed Muncie manual transmission, supported by Wilwood disc brakes, BMR adjustable suspension, and Vintage Air air conditioning. It is now being offered for auction in Florida.
For 1968, the Camaro received a series of detail revisions that set it apart from the first-year car, including federally mandated front and rear side marker lights, the deletion of the door vent windows in favor of larger single-piece side glass and Astro Ventilation, and oval front running lights on non-RS models. This example has been completel refinished in white with an orange accent stripe, completed with an aggressive stance riding on BF Goodrich tires mounted approximately 700 miles ago.
The cabin is trimmed in red vinyl and is said to retain its original configuration apart from an added tachometer. A Vintage Air air conditioning system has been fitted, which the seller describes as ice cold. Accessories include a red-finished three-spoke steering wheel, a polished shift knob, manual roll-up windows, and red carpets & floor mats.
