1968 Triumph TR6

Merit Cars is pleased to offer this attractive early-production 1968 Triumph TR6, finished in classic Signal Red with a black interior. Equipped with the highly desirable overdrive transmission, chrome wire wheels and the sought-after early CC-series High Compression (HE) engine, this TR6 represents one of the most desirable specifications of the model. Built during the first months of TR6 production, this early example retains its original character while offering the stronger-performing high-compression engine that enthusiasts prefer over the later emissions-era cars. The car presents very well throughout. The paint has an excellent shine and deep luster, while the chrome, brightwork and glass are all in very nice condition. The wire wheels remain attractive and complement the sporting appearance of the car. The interior is clean and inviting. Seats are intact, carpets are clean and the walnut dashboard presents very nicely. Previous ownership included professional servicing of the gauges. Mechanically, the car performs exactly as a TR6 should. The desirable CC-series High Compression engine starts easily, idles smoothly and delivers excellent power. The transmission shifts nicely and the factory overdrive engages properly, making highway driving relaxed and enjoyable. The trunk and spare tire compartment are clean. The underside is equally impressive with solid frame rails and floors. The trailing arm mounting area shows evidence of an older reinforcement, a common preventative improvement appreciated by experienced TR6 owners. Included with the car are: • Chrome wire wheels • Factory overdrive transmission • Spare wheel • Boot cover • Car cover • Original owner's handbook • Extra parts Overall, this is a handsome early TR6 that offers one of the most desirable combinations available—a High Compression engine, overdrive and wire wheels. It is ready to be driven, enjoyed and appreciated. Price: $13,950
