Vehicle Description 1968 Volkswagen Type 2 $26,995 There is an undeniable charm that radiates from the 1968 Volkswagen Type 2 Westfalia, a vehicle that embodies the spirit of adventure and nostalgia wrapped in a classic van silhouette. With its iconic Lotus White paint, this camper van has witnessed countless journeys and tales, offering a canvas for restoration and customization. Its 1600 CC engine, originally fuel injected but now equipped with a 2-barrel carburetor, hints at the robust personality lurking beneath the surface. This 4-speed manual transmission Westfalia invites those with a passion for classic motoring to own a piece of automotive history that is ready for its next chapter. Step inside the cabin and experience a unique blend of vintage character and comfort. The newer front vinyl bucket seats provide a touch of freshness amid the beige interior, while the wood panel headliner adds a warm, nostalgic vibe to your travels. The cracked dash and stained white door panels speak to its lived-in story, complemented by clear, readable gauges and an older aftermarket AM/FM radio. Though the carpet shows its age, this interior offers a tactile connection to an era where simplicity and function ruled the road. Under the hood lies a spirited 1600 CC flat-four engine, transitioned from factory fuel injection to a single 2-barrel carburetor, delivering a distinctive rumble that echoes classic Volkswagen heritage. Paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, this setup offers an engaging, hands-on driving experience. The stock suspension and drum brakes bring you closer to the original feel, while the absence of power steering and air conditioning emphasizes the raw, mechanical purity that enthusiasts crave.
