Description
This is a genuine 1969 Camaro Super Sport, confirmed by the X55 code on the trim tag, and it is one of the most meticulously detailed builds you’ll find. It has received a frame-off rotisserie restoration with every nut and bolt addressed, and it has covered only 1,000 miles since completion. The fit and finish are exceptional throughout, inside and out, top to bottom. Exterior The body was stripped to bare metal and is laser straight across every panel, with precise, consistent gaps. It is finished in DuPont basecoat/clearcoat and polished to a mirror shine, with ghost SS stripes on the cowl hood for a subtle nod to its Super Sport heritage. All emblems have been deleted and the trim blacked out for a clean, aggressive look. Up front is the optional Endura rubber bumper, joined by front and rear spoilers. The lighting has been fully updated with halogen headlights, smoked lenses on the head, marker and turn signal lights, and bright LED taillights set in Eddie Motorsports bezels. All glass is new and smoked, and every gasket and weatherstrip has been replaced. The car rolls on 18x8 American Racing Torq Thrust II wheels wrapped in Nitto tires, and it comes with a custom-fitted Car King cover. Interior The cabin has been restored with the same attention to detail as the exterior. Everything is new and fits precisely: carpet, headliner, dash pad, package tray, door panels, floor mats, vents and wiring. The black and white houndstooth upholstery is a sharp period-correct touch. The dash carries new gauges and a new bezel, and the new center console houses the factory tachometer and gauges. Upgrades include a carbon fiber shift plate and an Eddie Motorsports steering wheel, door handles, window cranks and sill plates. A modern stereo with new speakers and a hideaway antenna keeps the dash clean while adding modern sound. Engine and Drivetrain Power comes from a 383 stroker built with quality parts throughout. It features a 4-bolt main block with ARP studded mains, a mechanical roller cam with .660 lift, 5/16" chromoly pushrods, and Trick Flow Super 23 aluminum heads with 2.08 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves, 1.6 roller rockers and a stud girdle. On top sits an Edelbrock Performer intake with a 750 Quick Fuel Street Slayer carburetor. Spark comes from an MSD Pro Billet distributor and an MSD 7AL Plus box with a 2-step rev limiter. The engine breathes through ceramic-coated Hooker headers and Flowmaster 40 Series mufflers. Cooling is handled by a polished 4-core Griffin aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, and an Eddie Motorsports serpentine drive system runs Vintage Air heat and air conditioning. Fuel is delivered by an Edelbrock high-volume pump from a new tank through new stainless brake and fuel lines. The power goes through a Tremec 5-speed manual with a Centerforce clutch and steel flywheel, then through a balanced Driveshaft Specialist driveshaft to a 12-bolt rear end with Richmond 3.73 gears and an Auburn posi unit. Chassis The chassis is upgraded with Unisteer chrome rack-and-pinion steering, 4-wheel disc brakes, lowered springs front and rear, and subframe connectors for added rigidity. Summary This is a real X55 Super Sport with a no-compromise restoration and a strong, well-built drivetrain, all with essentially zero miles since completion. It is ready to show, cruise, or enjoy on the open road.
