Description
This custom 1969 Chevrolet Camaro known as "Tux" was built by Detroit Speed & Engineering and is powered by a 700hp Kurt Urban LS2 V-8 engine with a Harrop supercharger, custom front accessory drive, custom-machined air box and intake, backed by a Bowler-prepped T56 manual transmission and a 9-inch rear end. The heads, supercharger and transmission have been smoothed, polished, painted, cleared and buffed. It features a Detroit Speed subframe and suspension that maintains full suspension travel with a 47-inch overall roof height. The underside has been body-worked and painted and features custom-fabricated belly pans and jacking points. A polished 3-inch exhaust system is paired with Detroit Speed 1.875-inch stainless-steel headers. Braking is handled by Baer 6R six-piston calipers with a Detroit Speed custom master cylinder and polished brake lines. The exterior is finished in PPG black paint and features custom fabrication of the floors, bumpers, cowl, front apron, firewall, inner fenders and front and rear spoilers. Billet components include RS headlight doors, bezels, rear fuel cap and valve covers. Custom one-design chrome-plated Forgeline 19x10 front and 20x12 rear wheels are fitted with shaved and smoothed Michelin Pilot Sport 275/35-19 front and 335/30-20 rear tires. Chrome plating was completed by Advanced Plating. The custom M&M Interiors interior features a Classic Instruments gauge cluster, billet steering wheel and Vintage Air system. Additional equipment includes powered soft-pull door and trunk latches, an electronically controlled Infinity Box system and ARP 12-point stainless-steel fasteners with ball-milled heads, polished bolt flanges and CNC-milled washers throughout. This Camaro was a Ridler Great 8 finalist, 2018 Goodguys Street Machine of the Year winner, 2018 Triple Crown winner and 2018 SEMA Battle of the Builders winner. It was invited to Goodguys Columbus as a top Camaro during the 50-year reunion in 2019.
