Description
This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible is equipped with the Z11 option, which added the RS and SS packages as well as trim and decals in the style of the Camaro pace car used at the 1969 Indianapolis 500. The car was first delivered to Dumas-Milner Chevrolet in Miami and was refurbished in 2016. Power is provided by a 396ci Turbo-Jet V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential. Finished in white with orange stripes over Orange vinyl and houndstooth cloth upholstery, the car is equipped with a white convertible soft top, 15″ Rally wheels, front disc brakes, power-assisted steering, concealed headlights, a body-color front bumper, front and rear spoilers, an AM radio, and air conditioning. The seller purchased the car in 2020. This Camaro pace car convertible is now offered with a Protect-O-Plate, a window sticker, dealer documentation, and a clean New Hampshire title in the seller’s name. The Z11 package was introduced in early 1969 to outfit a limited run of production convertibles with trim replicating that of the official pace cars built for the 53rd Indianapolis 500. Fewer than 3,700 cars were sold with the option, all finished in Dover White with Z/28-style stripes in Hugger Orange. This example has been refinished. Exterior equipment includes a white convertible soft top, cowl vents, faux rear fender louvers, orange stripes, retractable headlights, dual side mirrors, front and rear spoilers, and a body-color front bumper.
