1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 Big Block, 4-Speed and Published Cover Car

Vehicle Description 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS $59,969 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, Daytona Yellow, 396 Big Block, 4-Speed and Published Cover Car This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS combines unmistakable classic muscle-car styling with a period-correct big-block drivetrain, excellent overall condition, documented history, and an impressive collection of modern performance upgrades. The car is finished in striking Code 76 Daytona Yellow, one of the most desirable colors offered on the 1969 Chevelle. Daytona Yellow was restricted to Chevelles ordered with the SS 396 package for the 1969 model year, making the factory color code a significant and highly desirable indicator of this car’s true Super Sport heritage. Under the hood is a period-correct 396-cubic-inch big-block V8 engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission. This is exactly the kind of drivetrain combination enthusiasts want in a classic muscle car big-block power, three pedals, and complete driver involvement. Hedman headers and a full three-inch exhaust system give this Chevelle the deep, authoritative sound that a proper big-block Chevrolet should have. The Daytona Yellow exterior is complemented by a sharp black bucket-seat interior. The car is in excellent condition inside and out, with impressive paint, bodywork, interior presentation, fit, and finish. Its aggressive stance and carefully selected upgrades enhance the car’s appearance and road manners without taking away from the unmistakable character of a classic 1969 Chevelle SS. Past & Present Motor Cars previously owned this Chevelle in 2019. During that time, it earned the distinction of being featured on the cover and inside Dale McIntosh’s book, 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. That published history gives this car a level of recognition and provenance that few examples can claim. Since we previously owned the car, it has received an impressive collection of high-quality performance and handling upgrades. A UMI Stage 3 suspension system provides an approximately two-inch drop, delivering a more aggressive stance and significantly improved handling. Tubular suspension components further sharpen its road manners, while a Wilwood big-brake system provides substantially upgraded stopping performance. The suspension and braking improvements are complemented by upgraded Moser rear axles and premium Forgeline GA3C multi-piece wheels. The wheels are wrapped in Falken Azenis performance tires, measuring 275/35R18 in the front and a wide 295/40R18 in the rear. This staggered tire arrangement gives the Chevelle an aggressive stance, substantial rear-wheel footprint, and performance-oriented appearance. Additional upgrades include Hedman headers, a full three-inch exhaust system, and Dapper Lighting LED halo headlamps. Together, these enhancements give the car a tasteful Pro-Touring influence while preserving the appearance, sound, and attitude that make a 1969 Chevelle SS so desirable. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a true Daytona Yellow, big-block, four-speed Chevelle SS with excellent presentation, published history, and thoughtfully executed performance upgrades. It is equally suited for showing, cruising, collecting, or simply enjoying the experience of driving one of Chevrolet’s greatest muscle cars.
