Description
This 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Apollo 12 Replica is powered by the original 350/350hp V-8 engine and four-speed manual transmission. Built from an original Riverside Gold Corvette sold new by Rathmann Chevrolet in October 1968, it remained with its original owner until approximately 2021 and retains its original sales paperwork, ownership history and supporting provenance from Rathmann Chevrolet. In 2025, it was transformed into a replica of Pete Conrad's Apollo 12 Corvette using Alan Bean's car as the reference standard. The original driveline, interior and chrome were retained. Original 1969 427 hood emblems and period-correct hubcaps were sourced to recreate the appearance of Conrad's Corvette while preserving the vehicle's original components. The car was displayed at the Huntsville Space & Rocket Center during the "Rides and Rockets" event alongside the newly announced ZR1-X.
