1969 Chevrolet Impala

Vehicle Description 1969 Chevrolet Impala $46,000 "Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to present the 1969 Chevrolet Impala remains a standout of the late ""Coke-bottle"" styling era, characterized by its substantial 119-inch wheelbase and a redesigned front bumper that wraps around the grille. This specific two-door Sport Coupe, finished in the iconic Butternut Yellow (Code 40), offers a bright, period-correct aesthetic that highlights the car's sweeping roofline and flared rear fenders. Underneath the hood, this configuration pairs the reliability of a small-block (327ci) V8 with a rare three-speed manual transmission, shifted via the steering column. Often referred to as a ""three-on-the-tree,"" this setup is a nostalgic throwback to a time when full-size Chevrolets could be ordered as straightforward, robust cruisers. Key Features and Aesthetic Body Style: The 2-door hardtop ""Sport Coupe"" profile, featuring the formal roofline and signature triple-unit taillights integrated into the rear bumper. Color: Butternut Yellow, a pale, creamy hue that was one of GM's most popular colors in the late 1960s, providing a striking contrast against chrome trim. Drivetrain: The column-shifted manual offers a unique, tactile driving experience that is increasingly difficult to find in surviving collector models, which are more commonly equipped with Powerglide or Turbo-Hydramatic automatics. Interior: Featuring a full bench seat to accommodate the column shifter, providing the classic ""living room on wheels"" feel for which the Impala is famous.
