Description
This custom 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is powered by a 5.0-liter Gen 1 Coyote V-8 engine producing over 600hp, featuring a prototype Magnuson supercharging system developed specifically for this build, a high-rpm intake and a 7,800-rpm redline. Power is transferred through a Tremec 3650 five-speed manual transmission with a Clutch Master hydraulic clutch kit to an 8.8-inch rear end with a limited-slip differential and 3.55 gears. Built by Fougal Creations as a one-of-one project, this Mustang underwent a complete chassis and structural reengineering process, increasing rigidity by up to 300%. The suspension features a custom P71-style aluminum front subframe with revised geometry, a four-link rear suspension and QA1 adjustable coilovers at all four corners. A 2005-10 Mustang rack-and-pinion power steering system provides directional control. A Fougal-designed stainless-steel exhaust system exits through side pipes. Stopping power is provided by six-piston Wilwood front calipers with 14-inch slotted rotors and 11.5-inch Cobra rear brakes with slotted rotors. More than 1,000 hours were dedicated to hand-fabricating and redesigning the all-metal widebody, incorporating reshaped front and rear fenders, revised wheel arches and a widened stance while retaining the original 1969 Mach 1 body lines. The exterior features a Fougal-designed front end with integrated aerodynamic air curtains to manage airflow around the front wheels, LED headlights, a custom grille with LED fog lights, a front lip, rear valance and diffuser. Additional exterior components include 3D-printed taillights, custom stripes, a billet aluminum race-style fuel cap and bullet-style door mirrors. Custom-offset 19x9 front and 19x10.5 rear lightweight wheels accommodate the revised track width. Reinforced front and rear window frames utilize modern urethane installation. The interior is upholstered in Fougal-designed matte red leather with sport front seats featuring Mach 1 stitching, carbon-fiber door panels with Mach 1 logos and a carbon-fiber rear X-brace. A billet aluminum center stack and console incorporate Ford GT billet aluminum switches, complemented by a billet aluminum steering wheel wrapped in red leather. Additional equipment includes a gray Dakota Digital instrument cluster, power windows, modern infotainment with a rear-view camera, a one-piece MTF headliner and a Vintage Air climate-control system with a billet aluminum control panel. The build also incorporates updated body wiring and a PBH powertrain control pack. More than 200 hours of 2D and 3D engineering and design work were completed, with approximately 90% of the vehicle's components designed, modified or custom-fabricated by Fougal. According to the builder, this is the only 1969 Mustang project it will produce with this fully metal-formed widebody design; they do not have plans to replicate this vehicle.
