1969 Mercury Cougar Convertible 351

This 1969 Mercury Cougar convertible was purchased new by the seller’s father in 1969 and has remained in the family ever since. The car was used as a daily driver through 1977 and subsequently as a weekend and pleasure car before being acquired by the current owner in 2012. The original 351ci V8 seized in 1974 and was replaced with a 351 Windsor that was rebuilt in 2019 and has fewer than 1,000 miles since the rebuild, and it is topped by an electronic fuel-injection system. The original four-speed manual transmission was also rebuilt in 2019, along with installation of a new Sachs clutch and related components. Finished in White over Dark Red vinyl, the Cougar retains much of its original interior and features a replacement Maroon soft top, 14″ styled wheels, and a Kenwood CD stereo. Driven ~200k miles by the family, this Cougar is now offered with a Marti Report, owner’s manual, extensive spare parts, removed air-conditioning equipment, and a Tennessee title in the seller’s name.
