Description
This 1600-2 came from Germany as a Agave Green with factory 4 speed transmission. I acquired the car from the second owner from a restoration in Southern California. The color was changed to INKA orange along with many areas refreshed. The front and rear subframes were cleaned and painted, interior redone in black vinyl. New carpets, motor work and transmission work was done during the refresh. Paperwork from prior owner gives some history on parts and areas refreshed. Prior owner installed an AIR RIDE suspension Since my ownership the car has had many repairs and upgrades. Sway bars front and rear. strut tower brace, undercarrige undercoated with Wurth High Body coating. New (period correct wheels) and tires. The two buckets seats were repaired and functioning correctly. The Weber carb (32/36) was taken apart and cleaned and adjusted properly. The Petronics distributor conversion was done during prior ownership. Front and rear glass seals along with new seals for the doors and passenger vent window. New main glass for both doors. Regulators cleaned, greased with the passenger door side rebuilt. The car has had sound deadening material added in the trunk and doors. Powered sub-woofer installed under rear bench seat. I keep an individual three ring binder for all my cars. The binders contain a lengthy trail of the parts, maintenance done to the vehicle. The windows were TINTED. The car has seen maintenance at VSR1 in New Hampshire and at Little Foreign Car in Massachusetts. The car has been viewed at the BMWCCA Boston Chapter 2026 Concourse (won CLEAN CLASS) and the Vintage in Saratoga Springs, New York. Would love to be able to show the car and Binder using Facetime for serious buyers.
